Mah Kitteh

This is my cat, Spanky. He lives with my parents so I guess he's the "family" cat but I say he is mine. That's it.

Good Dog Rescue of Memphis

Ahhh crap.
Well, I love animals and I'm always reading Good Dog's tweets on Twitter. All their pups are so cute. (I should probably stop reading them because I always want to adopt one of them and I know I can't)
Over Thanksgiving break, my old friend, David, had a tragic thing happen with his dog, Timber. He got out of the yard and was hit and killed on the interstate.
This is Timber.

I only met Timber a couple of times over the past 6 years that David had him, but I was so heartbroken for my friend when I heard what happened. I didn't even know what to say. I honestly like dogs more than a lot of people I know. It's true. Dogs love you no matter what. It kills me to think of dogs suffering or dying. I know it happens and it's part of life, but it still breaks my heart.

In honor of Timber, I'm posting this little boo here.

This is Zelda.

I'm so glad she was picked up off the road and I hope someone gives her a good, safe home.

"Zelda is a five month old dachshund mix. She is very sweet and a bit timid.
Zelda was found by a Good Samaritan running along the expressway (yes, INTERSTATE, multi-lane highway!). She was, understandably frightened to death, but gratefully ran to her Angel! The Good Samaritan contacted Good Dog Rescue Director, Lisa, who gladly took in the Holiday Waif. She is shy at first when she meets someone new, but will warm up quickly.
Zelda is a young puppy who needs a family that has a flexible schedule to help her learn her house manners. She gets along well with other dogs in her foster home. She is extremely playful with other dogs and has NO shyness towards other dogs. Zelda is spayed and microchipped. Zelda is doing well with other foster dogs and she loves to snuggle. She is in good health, has had her first shots and started on all preventatives.
AN ADOPTION FEE OF $150 IS REQUIRED FOR ZELDA.
Please contact Lisa Trenthem at ltrenthem@gmail.com or 901-276-7751 if you are interested in adopting Zelda. If you are interested in adopting, have a look at our adoption application, complete it, and send to the contact person. If you are unable to adopt at this time, you may sponsor the care of this pet."

Thanksgiving

Okay, so my Thanksgiving was awesome as always.
Here's what happened.
First, I went over to Lar and Sharr's house. Larry is my CPA boyfriend, so please back off. He also happens to be Ashley's dad, but whatever, that's not important.
This is Sharron.
She's Larry's wife.

Obviously, we started the day with mimosa's because we were most thankful for champagne.
Below is Sharron after she got ready and had her mimosa.

Before.After.

Mimosa's make everyone and everything more awesome.

It was a really, really pretty day so we hung out outside and stuff.

Here's Mockey MikeyThis is Ashley and one of her nephews, Jackson.

Ashley and her big sister, Lawren.

Jackson swinging before lunch.

So anyway, we had fun, had some mimosa's and beers. Ate a REALLY yummy lunch.
One of Ashley's 19 year old stepcousins stole a bottle of Old Charter, got caught, had to bring it back and apolgize to all 29 people at Ashley's parents house.
It. Was. Awesome.

After we hung out there for a little while we headed to the Smith's Thanksgiving.
I already posted a lot of pictures from that house because baby Parker came by- woot!
Michael's family is from Louisiana, like me, and are also big LSU fans, like me.
This is a nice way to start their family Thanksgiving.
Ashley and I sitting on the couch, not eating, because we were too full of beer and fried turkey.
Most of the time at the Smith's we drank beer, hung out with baby Parker and talked about how Ole Miss beat LSU and how stupid Les Miles was.

Next it was time for the Shannon's annual Thanksgiving wine and Chick-fil-a night.
Here's me and a few friends with Leigh's mom, Kathy.
I mean, I really should start bringing my actual camera around. This is ridic.

So basically, at the Shannon's every year, we all get together and drink wine before we go out.
Here's Mrs. Kathy and her new husband, Lawson (who by the way slapped me on the head while we were playing Apples to Apples and I am still sore).
These are some of my best buddies.
Catie, Blair, Phifer

After we were done at Leigh's we headed to the annual party at Newby's.
Every year, all the kids in Memphis meet up at Newby's to run into all those people you don't get to see that often who are in town for the holiday.
We do the same thing on Christmas Day.
By this point, I was obviously not into taking pictures as much, but I did manage to snap one of the main bar room.
I know! It's such good quality!
No, I didn't take a photography class, this just comes naturally.
Friday night was the "Gobble Till You Wobble Party" downtown.
Rocky sent us over another deep fried turkey, we got a keg and we ate all over again.
This is Ashley BEFORE the party started.
Oh, have I mentioned Paul was in town from L.A.?
Oh. My. God. I love him.
And here is "THE" Chris Jones at about 4 am.
Yeah, it was like that.
Happy Thanksgiving!

It's the most exciting thing that's happened today so get over it.
