Silver Lining

My good friend Michael's older brother Shelton passed away in a tragic car accident earlier this year. He was way too young and left behind a wife who was expecting their first child. It's been really hard watching Michael and my best friend, Ashley (who has dated Michael for 9 years now) go through such a difficult loss.

But, "every cloud has a silver lining" or something like that, right?

Well, Shelton's baby boy came this November and I finally got to meet him this Thanksgiving with the Smiths. I don't even like kids and this is one cute baby.

It's bittersweet that Shelton will never get to meet his son and vice versa, but a part of him will always be here for his family and friends in Parker.
Sorry about the quality of the pictures, as usual, they are from my phone....

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. I miss my family today, but I am so thankful for my wonderful friends who have always been like a second family to me. It's nice to have a holiday that focuses on gratitude, but I hope that as each day goes by, I am more and more grateful every, single day, even when it's difficult.

Have a fabulous Thanksgiving!

You serious Clark?

It's that time of year again! One month until Christmas!

Ole Miss vs. LSU

So like I said, I went to Oxford twice in November.
The first weekend, I didn't have a dog in the fight; the second weekend I did, and let's just say, it didn't turn out quite like I hoped it would.
I feel like Les Miles' face in the picture sums up what I'd like to do in his face.
Thanks for nothing, bud.
Friday night, we got into to town and went straight to the Library trying to (unsuccessfully) beat the $20 cover. We watched the Ole Miss vs. Kansas St. basketball game and hung out as everyone got into town. Then we headed across the street to the Lyric to see Dirty Dozen Brass Band.
We tailgated in the Grove again. I was the lone LSU fan most of the day at Lee and Ferg's tent although we did have a few here and there.
Here are Courtney and Lee before the game. We had a long weekend. But yeah, this is the worst picture I could find of them.
You're welcome.

Oh, look how happy and jovial all these jerk Ole Miss fans are.

I wasn't really on top of my "camera" aka "cell phone" game this weekend. Morgan was and trust me, we had a lot of fun.

Saw some great music both nights, danced with a singing Elvis in the Grove. Met lots of fun new people.

Great weekend. Maybe I'll come back and post some of Morgan's pictures later. MAYBE.

Geaux Tigers! We'll get em next year!

Ole Miss vs. Tennessee

For some reason I spent two weekends during the month of November in Oxford, MS.
The first weekend, I went down for the Ole Miss/Tennesse game.
Guess who won?
Poor Katie. :( It was a pretty typical football weekend in Oxford.
We tailgated in the Grove, watched the game, went to the Library, walked in on Sam peeing on his living room floor...
Overall, I'd say it was a successful weekend.
Sarah and I in the Grove. She's pretty cool I guess.

This guy rocks my world.

I'm really annoying.

Taylor- one of my new favorite people. He LOVES LSU.

Page and Joseph got married...

And ruined all hopes for my future romantic life. Just kidding. (kinda)

Page and Joseph did get married though and what a fun time it was. Jorden and Robert came in town (yay) and I got to see a lot of people I don't get to see that often. The reception was downtown on Main Street and I'm not really one to toot my own horn but, toot toot, I killed it on the dancefloor. I got to meet the infamous John Wiggins and he was everything I hoped he'd be and more.

Here's a few pictures from my phone. It's an iPhone so don't worry about it, this is high quality stuff right here.

Rachel and I killing it on Main Street.

Dancefloors.

By the way, I had an incredible view during the ceremony.

I do have one regret from this night- I never found the chicken fingers at the reception.
